From our workshop in the Netherlands
A piece of leather, a design that is yours alone, and the heat that puts one into the other. Scroll along: first we show you how a woggle is made and what other scouts had burned, then we design yours together.
ScrollA woggle is a small thing. It holds your neckerchief together, and that is all it has to do.
And still everyone in the group knows exactly whose woggle is whose. Because on it is a name, a group logo, a photo of last summer camp — something that belongs to one person only. That is what we burn into the leather here, one woggle at a time.
Burning leaves no ink on the leather; it darkens the leather itself. That is why it never washes out, never peels off, and gets more beautiful as the years pass. It also means there is no undo button — so before anything is burned, your design is checked by hand.
A woggle is cut from full, sturdy leather — 3 mm thick for the real leather, 2 mm for the beige imitation leather. Thick enough to keep its shape for years around a neckerchief, thin enough to still burn beautifully.
Round, 5.5 to 7 centimetres across, or a triangle of 6 by 6 by 6. Every woggle gets its channel, so your neckerchief slides through smoothly and stays put.
Burning happens in our own workshop. Every design is first tidied up by hand, and then tried out: speed and intensity adjusted until the lines sit exactly right on this leather. Too much heat and it turns black, too little and it leaves no mark at all. After that there is no going back — which is why we test before we burn.
The last traces of the burn are wiped away, the woggle is checked one final time and it goes out as letterbox post with PostNL. Normally we ship within one to three working days.
Right now we burn on Blank Leer (3mm dik). Blank leather: the lightest of the three, and the one your design stands out on most sharply. Dark lines on a light surface, like pencil on paper.
Whichever you choose, the design is yours: a name, your group logo, a photo, a drawing by the youngest member. You can send us a file, or design it here in your browser.
Designed before you
Group logos, names, mascots, camp dates. No two the same — that is rather the point.
Your turn
A few short questions, and your woggle is in the cart. You can change every answer as long as you have not paid.

A whole group at once? From 15 woggles you get an attractive discount.
Want the back burned as well? Add a design to the back side too — that costs €3.95 per woggle and we only charge it when the back is really printed.
You design woggle 1 first, then woggle 2, and so on.
Enter the names separated by a comma. Every name becomes its own woggle with your design on it.
After this you design one woggle with a name on it, and we put every name onto that design.
